This course is designed to present public speaking as a living and dynamic transaction in which the meaning of the message emerges from the relationship between the speaker and the audience. This course encourages students to think about their communication and recognize the centrality of the audience in speech preparation. Significant content related to the classical and contemporary theories of communication studies is used to promote critical thinking as it relates to the foundations of public speaking.
