Course Description

This course presents a broad introduction to the functioning of business enterprise within the U.S. economic framework. A general survey of the entire field of business and management in the free enterprise system is provided. Concepts of business and management functions, organizational considerations, and decision-making processes are covered. Throughout the course, students will receive career information and advice relevant to their future or ongoing careers. The course introduces economic systems, essential elements of business organization, production, human resource management, marketing, finance, and risk management. The student will develop a business vocabulary. Course presents language and concepts of American business enterprise. The role of the manager and the nature of the management process are integrated throughout course.
