Course Description

The course is designed to introduce the student to the rules of law under which businesses operate. It provides the student with a basic understanding of the legal rights and duties which arise from common business transactions. A study of the everyday legal problems encountered in business with emphasis on the areas of legal procedure, contracts, agency, employment law, business organizations and torts, with cases relating to these and other areas. This course introduces the ethics and legal framework of business. Students will gain an understanding of basic legal vocabulary. Upon completion, students should be able to apply ethical issues and laws covered to business decision-making situations.
