Coral has been teaching for over 25 year, first in Venezuela, her native country, at the Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas (Teacher's College), the Colegio Universitario Francisco de Miranda, and the Instituto Universitario de Relaciones Públicas.   After moving to Florida, Coral has mostly worked in the K-12 level as a Media Specialist. She currently works in a high school in Gainesville as Media Specialist/Technology Integrator/Webmaster.

Coral serves as the Dean of Students at NCalU, where she answers questions from new students and helps them navigate the complexities of the online world.

She obtained her Specialist and Master's Degrees in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University and she is also a National Board Certified Teacher in Library/Media. During her spare time, she mentors National Board candidates online and occasionally trains assessors to score portfolios for National Board candidates. She firmly believes that going through the National Board certification process is the best professional experience any teacher can have.
