Jon serves on the NCalU Accreditation Team for Section IV. He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University and is currently working toward his doctoral degree from Argosy University. He expects to complete his dissertation in Organizational Leadership in Summer, 2011. Jon is finishing almost 30 years in education including elementary and secondary teacher, Principal, Central Office Administration, and as an international school Headmaster in Shanghai, China. Currently on sabbatical in Washington, he is working as an administrative substitute and leadership coach for newly placed principals in the public school system. Jon also has his Superintendent’s certification from Washington State and resides in the Seattle/Tacoma area with his wife and two children.
A long time advocate and effective user of and advocate for technology applications in the educational setting, Jon has also led many technology related programs including leading edge systems design and as a conference chairperson for the recurring Learning 2.0 series held annually in Shanghai. Serving educators from throughout the Southeast Asia region, this conference has established a leading edge reputation for both innovation and implementation across hundreds of international schools in this hemisphere and beyond.
Jon’s mission and beliefs are connected to lifelong education and the preparation of learners for a world of the future. Building programs based on future focused leadership is at the core of his strategy for encouraging the reform of “education” as we now know it.
